The Culling Game is the central plot of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, where Kenjaku implements his insane plan to "evolve" humanity by utilizing Tengen's barriers to optimize Cursed Energy.
To help fans avoid being overwhelmed by new plot points, Hobiverse will provide a detailed analysis of Jujutsu Kaisen's Culling Game Rules and the harsh survival rules within this deadly game.
What is the Culling Game?
It is a battle for survival between sorcerers and ordinary people caught in it.
As revealed in the Shibuya Incident, Kenjaku successfully awakened thousands of people into sorcerers. This is how he gathered players for the Culling Game, ranging from those who absorbed cursed objects (like Itadori) to those whose brains he modified to use Cursed Techniques.
Those who participate in the Culling Game are called Players. In total, there are 10 colonies (barriers) established across Japan, each enclosed by an isolated barrier.

8 basic rules of Jujutsu Kaisen's Culling Game Rules
In the Culling Game, rules are absolute. Violating them not only leads to defeat but also to death.
Rule 1
After awakening their Cursed Technique, players must enter a self-selected colony within 19 days and commit to participating in the game.
Hokkaido is the only area without a colony due to Tengen's barrier. Therefore, anyone who possesses Cursed Techniques must be mentally prepared: within 19 days from the night of October 31st when they awaken, they are forced to enter one of the ten colonies, including Tsumiki, Megumi Fushiguro's sister.

Rule 2
Players who violate Rule 1 will have their Cursed Technique stripped away. Since Cursed Techniques are directly linked to the brain and soul, being "stripped away" will actually cause irreversible damage and lead to death. This prevents players from quitting halfway through.
Rule 3
Non-Players automatically become Players when they cross a colony barrier, regardless of whether they are sorcerers or not, as long as they enter voluntarily.
Ordinary people already in the colony before the barrier was established can leave. But anyone who enters afterward will be confined and can be killed to accumulate points, thereby increasing the Cursed Energy within the barrier.
In addition to newly awakened sorcerers, there are ancient sorcerers revived by Kenjaku through vessels. This makes strategy and cunning vital.

Rule 4
Players receive points after eliminating another player.
This rule makes the scoreboard unpredictable and exposes Kenjaku's disregard for ordinary human lives. It also creates a division among Players: those who only hunt sorcerers and those willing to slaughter civilians.
Rule 5
Points are assigned based on the value given by the Game Master.
Kill 1 sorcerer: 5 points.
Kill 1 ordinary person: 1 point.

Rule 6
By spending 100 points, players can negotiate with the Game Master to add a new rule to the game.
This is the main goal for Yuji's and Megumi's group to save Tsumiki. They must create a rule that allows her to leave the game safely.
Rule 7
The Game Master must accept new rules unless they severely hinder the continuation of the game. Obviously, rules like "end the game immediately" cannot be added.

Rule 8
If a player's score does not change for 19 days, their Cursed Technique will be stripped (leading to death). This forces everyone to continuously hunt and kill each other to survive.
Thus, even the kindest people must become hunters if they want to preserve their lives. It creates an endless cycle of violence within the barriers. The only way to help those who do not want to participate is to create rules that allow them to leave the game.
The Culling Game is not only a battle of wits but also a harsh moral test for the sorcerers at Jujutsu High. Who do you think will be the first to accumulate 100 points to change the rules of the game?
