Today, we're going to "examine" a match that's making waves in the fan community: Sanji vs Nusjuro! Although this battle, which began in chapter 1116, hasn't ended yet, the speculation and debate surrounding it are hotter than a frying pan! Can the Straw Hat Pirates' "Black Leg" stand against one of the Five Elders, rumored to be the strongest? Let's dive deep into this potential showdown with Hobiverse!
The Setting of the Battle at Egghead
The battle at Egghead is a matter of life and death, as the World Government mobilizes its maximum forces to eliminate Dr. Vegapunk and prevent the revelation of the hidden truth about the Void Century. The appearance of the Five Elders (figures revered as symbols of supreme power) has turned the island into an uncompromising battlefield.
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, the cold swordsman among the Five Elders, has been given a brutal mission: to wipe out all life and ensure no one escapes. This is the first time the Straw Hat Pirates have faced an opponent of such a "god-like" and seemingly invincible caliber.
And the battle between Sanji vs Nusjuro began in chapter 1113, when Nusjuro unexpectedly appeared on the Giant Warrior Pirates' ship, blocking Franky and Bonney's path. Sanji then stepped up and fought against this Five Elder character.
Sanji vs Nusjuro: Strength and Combat Abilities
How strong is "Black Leg" Sanji now?
When people think of Sanji, they immediately think of his fiery, lightning-fast kicks and his incredible cooking skills. After the Wano arc, Sanji made a huge leap in power. The successful activation of his Raid Suit (though he later destroyed it) and the awakening of his latent Germa powers transformed him into a true warrior, far exceeding human limits.
Sanji's Diable Jambe fire kicks have now been upgraded to Ifrit Jambe, with a colder, stronger, and more devastating flame. Along with that, Sanji's speed has reached a level that even opponents with strong Observation Haki like Queen (the second strongest member of Kaido's crew) are wary of.
In short, Sanji at this point is a "speed monster" with extremely powerful fire-based attacks and almost absolute defense. He is the right hand of the future Pirate King, and this position demands extraordinary strength.
The Mystery of Saint Nusjuro with the Ice Sword
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro is one of the Five Elders, possessing a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, which allows him to transform into Bakotsu (Bone Horse) – a type of Yokai (demon) in Japanese legend, taking the form of a giant skeletal horse.
In his human-horse hybrid form, Nusjuro achieves extraordinary speed of movement and attack, making his moves almost impossible to track or dodge. Furthermore, he is a master swordsman, wielding the legendary sword Kitetsu, one of the legendary swords. The most terrifying aspect is Nusjuro's speed and cutting power. In a flash, he can decapitate numerous Pacifistas effortlessly, demonstrating complete dominance in terms of physical ability and swordsmanship.
Nusjuro is a swordsman with the ability to manipulate ice or a power related to cold, creating an interesting contrast with Sanji's fire.
Sanji vs Nusjuro: Can fire defeat ice?
This is the most exciting part, where we weigh these two warriors against each other.
Sanji has a clear advantage in speed. His ability to move fast enough to be invisible and his Germa gene abilities will be key to avoiding Nusjuro's deadly slashes. Sanji's Ifrit Jambe, with its blue-hot flames, could be a natural counter to Nusjuro's icy powers. A direct kick could melt through ice defenses and inflict heat damage on the opponent. Moreover, Sanji's recovery ability allows him to endure and prolong the fight, which is crucial when facing an opponent with devastating offensive power like a Five Elder.
Nusjuro, on the other hand, has an advantage in pure strength and combat experience. If he is a true swordsman, then his swordsmanship skills must be at the highest level, comparable to Mihawk or Shanks. Although Sanji is fast, will he be fast enough to overcome a Five Elder's powerful Observation Haki, or will speed help him escape wide-area and overwhelming slashes?
Many believe that Nusjuro will likely win the match. Sanji may be at a Yonko Commander level, but his opponent is a Five Elder, who are considered the final bosses of the World Government and are incredibly tough to defeat.
However, Sanji will not lose easily. He will force Nusjuro to display his full power, thereby revealing more of the Five Elders' mysteries. Sanji might use his speed to exhaust his opponent and his Ifrit Jambe to pierce through the icy defenses. It is highly likely that the match will end in a draw, or Sanji will suffer defeat but succeed in creating an opportunity for his teammates. Many fans hope that Oda will elevate Sanji to Zoro's level to create a pivotal battle.
