Oshi no Ko (Under the Light) has just released season 2 and attracted a large number of fans from all over the world. If you have not watched season 1 and are curious to know the plot of Oshi no Ko , this article is for you.
Opening of the Oshi no Ko plot
Part 1 of Oshi no Ko begins one night, when a handsome doctor named Gorou Amamiya takes a walk outside the village hospital, and is accidentally stabbed by a knife-wielding man in a hoodie. As Dr. Amamiya lies dying, he suddenly sees a light and realizes the strange truth: that he was just reincarnated, but not as the isekai protagonist. He was reincarnated as the son of Ai Hoshino, his favorite pop idol and his current patient at the hospital. Not only that, Gorou Amamiya also suddenly has a new twin sister, one of the sickly patients at the hospital named Sarina Tendouji. Thus begins a strange family of a man and a 12-year-old girl in a newborn's body, whose mother is a pop idol
At first, this detail was used for comedy in the first season of Oshi no Ko, typically when the two babies waved their glow sticks to cheer on Ai Hoshino's concert. However, in the long run, viewers realized that Ai was very stressed about being a single mother, unable to reveal the existence of her two children. She also worried that her love for the two children was not enough, because only performing was everything.
Unfortunately, when her two children Aqua and Ruby were three years old, Ai was stabbed to death by a fan. As Ai Hoshino lay dying, she reflected on her life and her role as a mother, and died happy knowing that her love for Aqua and Ruby was not fake. She truly loved her son and daughter, although that did not comfort Aqua and Ruby.
The plot of Oshi no Ko really begins when the two children grow up.
Years later, Aqua and her younger sister Ruby start high school, where their new lives truly begin. That's when the siblings meet the other main cast members Kana Arima, Mem-Cho, and Akane Kurokawa. They bond over friendship, rivalry, and troubled partnerships. This is also how Oshi no Ko explores the dark side of the idol industry after Ai Hoshino's death, as Ruby recklessly plunges into the industry that once killed her new mother.
Ruby has created a new pop idol group called B-Komachi, named after her mother's defunct pop group. The group includes Kana Arima and Mem-Cho, each with different skills and talents.
Meanwhile, Ruby's older brother Aqua is on a much darker path, one far removed from music and online fandom. Aqua vows to find and kill his new mother's killer, and he's become obsessed with revenge. He's willing to devote his entire second life to this mission, even hiding it from his younger sister and classmates. He's sought the help of the adults around him to find Ai's killer. Aqua's investigation may soon yield results, but whether it will make the Hoshino twins happy is another matter entirely.
At the end of Part 1 of Oshi no Ko, a love triangle forms when Kana Arima realizes that she may have feelings for the handsome and mysterious Aqua Hoshino, while at the same time, Akane Kurokawa is also determined to make Aqua hers. The cause comes from Akane's scripting error in a reality TV show and she suffered a lot of negative reactions online, causing her to collapse to the point of wanting to end her life, luckily Aqua saved her at the last moment. Akane owes him a life. With that gratitude, she falls in love with him, she tries to imitate Ai Hoshino to become the type of girl Aqua wants.
