Who is Masamichi Yaga ? He is a rather important character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series, serving as the principal of the Jujutsu College. He holds quite a lot of power in the world of Jujutsu masters and is one of the few people who understands Gojo Satoru. The principal's death has a huge impact on the plot. So does he have a chance to be resurrected, or is he really dead?
Is Masamichi Yaga dead?
It may sound hard to accept for fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, but Masamichi Yaga is actually dead. He was killed by the Gakuganji Principal in chapter 147! It seems that the possibility of Yaga transferring his soul to another body is very low, almost impossible.

Although Masamichi Yaga was someone who could put souls into puppets to create puppets with powerful magical powers, putting his own soul in a situation like this without any preparation seemed impossible. Honestly, if author Gege Akutami continued to kill characters at this rate, Jujutsu Kaisen would probably end soon.
How did Masamichi Yaga die?
Yaga was on the Special Agents' death list after the Shibuya Incident. They were determined to sentence him to death. His death had nothing to do with the Shibuya incident, but rather his own technique. Because Masamichi Yaga could create puppets with his own personalities and emotions. This technique was so terrifying that he had been arrested by his superiors before for the same reason.
Since the execution order was issued, Yaga has been hiding in a forest protected by Tengen's barrier. This is also where he hid his soul puppets. Unfortunately, the Special Agents decided to use Panda to lure him out. Even though he knew it was a trap, Masamichi Yaga still decided to show up. He bid farewell to the puppets in the forest and went to rescue Panda. However, what was waiting for him was the Headmaster of Gakuganji. Although the battle scenes were omitted, the end result was Yaga lying heavily injured in front of Gakuganji.
How will Masamichi Yaga's death affect the plot?
At this point, it's hard to tell what impact Principal Yaga's death will have on the plot. He was the first victim to fall to the Special Class of the Jutsu World. So it's very possible that Gege Akutami is setting up the Special Class as a force of evil and giving Panda and the others a solid reason to take them down.
Besides, Masamichi Yaga is one of the few people who understand Gojo Satoru's personality. After his departure, will Gojo continue to be a good teacher or will he lose his will? This is still a mystery. Or perhaps, he will be the one to massacre the high-rises to avenge Masamichi Yaga?
