Genshin Impact Update 5.8
Genshin Impact version 5.8 officially launched on July 30, 2025, opening a series of new content such as summer events and a new land to explore. This is the last chance for Natlan before heading to the mysterious Nod-Krai region.

In phase 2 of 5.8 (from August 19 to September 9, 2025), the Chasca and Mualani banners officially return, attracting fans through two very different DPS (damage-dealing role) styles.

Explore Chasca and Mualani's skill sets in Genshin Impact 5.8
Genshin Impact version 5.8 has officially brought two new characters from Natlan, each possessing a unique fighting style and skill set.
-
Chasca: As a 5-star Elementalist character, Chasca stands out with her unique Night Soul mechanic. Her elemental skill allows her to hover in the air, firing elemental-converting bullets. This not only helps her avoid attacks from enemies but also creates incredible flexibility in activating elemental reactions. With her unique movement mechanics, Chasca is a great choice for both combat and world exploration, providing a smooth and enjoyable experience.

-
Mualani: In contrast to Chasca, Mualani, a 5-star Water Elemental character, has a more patient playstyle. She accumulates points through three attacks on enemies to use "Shark Bite" to deal massive damage. Although Mualani's burst damage is formidable, her low attack frequency may make some players feel unsmooth. Her playstyle is suitable for the Evaporation team, limiting her teammate choices. In return, she has the ability to surf to move across diverse terrain.

So should I invest in Chasca or Mualani?
Chasca is for those who want a versatile, unique, cool flying DPS that can easily fit into teams from Grass Elemental reaction teams to Ice and Fire teams thanks to her elemental shifting ability. Her aerial playstyle also gives her a clear tactical advantage, allowing her to avoid enemy attacks and maintain constant damage. Chasca has the advantage of being easy to use, but also has long-term value in a variety of situations.
Mualani is great if you need a strong, easy-to-build Hydro DPS and enjoy the thrill of surfing. Mualani requires players to master the tempo and only really shines in specific comps. While she brings "massive" burst damage, her lack of comp flexibility can make her less effective in some situations. This doesn't mean Mualani is weak, she's simply more picky with comps.
