From historical manga to emotional anime
Blue Miburo is adapted from Tsuyoshi Yasuda's manga The Blue Wolves of Mibu, which first appeared in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2021. The series quickly gained popularity thanks to its depiction of the chaotic period in Kyoto when the Western "black ships" arrived, opening a moment that changed the fate of the country.
The main character, Nio, a gentle boy living in a chaotic time, accidentally meets the “Miburo” group consisting of Hijikata and Okita, who will become the legends of Shinsengumi. Season 2 will take the climax to a new level by delving into a turning point historical event: the assassination of the first leader of Shinsengumi, Serizawa Kamo (voiced by Ryota Takeuchi).

This is a dramatic story arc where the line between justice and cruelty becomes blurred. This internal settlement is necessary for the Shinsengumi to reshape its ideals and power under the leadership of Hijikata Toshizo (Yohei Azakami) and Okita Souji (Kensho Ono). Blue Miburo season 2 promises to be filled with climactic swordplay and brutal decision-making moments.
