Demon Slayer tells the story of Tanjiro's journey. He must face many challenges to become a true demon slayer swordsman, to fight Demon King Kibutsuji Muzan and turn his sister Nezuko back into a human. He matures rapidly after each battle, but will Tanjiro become Hashira ? Let's find out with Hobiverse!
3 ways to become Hashira
Hashira or Pillars are the most elite demon hunters, possessing peak breath control as well as combat abilities that are completely superior to regular demon hunters. To become a Pillar, one must be ranked Kinoe, which is also the highest rank in the Demon Slayer Corps. There are 3 ways for a demon hunter to be recognized as Kinoe and become Hashira:
Accumulate the number of demons destroyed
The first approach involves accumulating a number of demon kills of no less than 50. Each demon hunter who joins the Demon Slayers will have a mark on their hand that represents rank. Every time you kill a demon, it will be counted and your level will also increase.
According to the Engineering Town Arc, Inosuke showed Tanjiro how to see his rank. I see you are at the fourth level of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kanoe level. There are a total of 10 ranks in order from weakest to strongest: Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto and Kinoe.
You have to flex your muscles for this mark to appear

Defeat a demon alone in Twelve Demon Moons
The second way to become a Pillar is to defeat the demon in the Twelve Demon Moons alone. These are the most powerful demons, directly commanded by Kibutsuji Muzan. Even Hashira like the Underworld also needed the help of Tanjiro's group to defeat Upper Huyen Luc, enough to prove how strong these demons are.
Become a successor
The final way to become a Pillar is through inheritance. The person whose potential is valued by the current Pillars will become a Next Son, and will be trained by that Pillar on how to use breath. When that Pillar retires or unfortunately passes away, the next son will become the Pillar. Fire Pillar Rengoku once intended for Tanjiro to be his successor, but unfortunately he died in the battle with Akaza before doing so.
So, will Tanjiro become Hashira?
According to the above methods, sooner or later Tanjiro will have himself a Pillar position in the Demon Slayer Corps. However, this never came true because the Demon King, Kibutsuji Muzan, attacked the mansion of the leader of the Demon Slayers, Kagaya Ubuyashiki. At that time, the Hashira as well as Tanjiro were forced into a fighting position.
Everyone was forced into a fighting position because the leader of the Demon Slayers was murdered
Tanjiro performed extremely well in battle, he supported the Pillars a lot. In the final part of the Infinity Fortress Arc, Demon King Muzan was finally defeated, a period of peace began and the Demon Slayer Corps was disbanded.
on the path to becoming a Pillar. With Muzan officially defeated, Tanjiro and the remaining Demon Hunters can finally live in a peaceful world without demons.
Even though we have gone through many difficulties, we finally have a perfect ending, so whether Tanjiro becomes Hashira or not is no longer so important. And you, what do you think about this issue?
